Emma is a dedicated and highly skilled Paralegal at DCD LAW. A native of Texas, Emma earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Arizona before moving to California to pursue her passion for law. She also holds an ABA-approved Paralegal certification from UCLA, which solidified her expertise in the field of criminal defense and legal advocacy.
Before transitioning to law, Emma worked as an investigative journalist specializing in court and crime reporting, where she gained valuable experience in understanding complex legal processes and the intricacies of the criminal justice system. This hands-on experience fueled her desire to advocate for justice reform and reduce recidivism rates within the system.
At DCD LAW, Emma assists Founding Attorney Kevin Moghtanei with the most complex criminal defense cases, where her sharp legal research, exceptional organizational skills, and legal writing expertise play a critical role. Known for her meticulous attention to detail and dedication to providing clients with the highest quality legal support, Emma is an essential part of the team, ensuring every case is handled with care and precision. Emma has a special ability to communicate with clients from all backgrounds, with her southern charm, which enhances her ability to make even the toughest of days into a brighter one. She is dedicated to guiding clients through the complexities of the legal system with clarity and confidence, while also supporting her team in every aspect of case management.
Outside of her professional life, Emma is passionate about criminal justice reform and supporting efforts to reduce recidivism. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, equestrian activities, and hiking, all of which allow her to recharge and maintain her strong work ethic.
